August 2017 Book of the Month

For August I want to recommend a short book I read in seminary that really brought forward some arguments on the Book of Genesis that many people think about, argue about, ponder, and simply feel baffled by, because society around us has thrown Genesis out as fiction and myth and replaced it with… fiction and myth of another order.

Francis Shaeffer wrote, Genesis in Space and Time to address these issues and take the book back from the scrap heap of modern civilization where it was thrown in pursuit of reason, philosophy, and one-sided scientific experiments and viewpoints that require leaps of fancy.

Shaeffer challenges the modern view that has kicked Genesis and history to the curb by showing that the first 11 chapters of Genesis, “stand as a solid, space-time basis for answering the tough questions posed by the modern world.
