May 2016 Book of the Month

Hello my friends, this month I am recommending a Charles Spurgeon book. This months selection is Spiritual Warfare in a Believers Life.

So much happens on a daily basis in our lives, both good and bad that many people are frequently overwhelmed. Unfortunately good things in peoples lives rarely overwhelm them. Although past lottery winners might disagree with that statement…

In this short book Spurgeon lays out excellent examples that each of us will experience in our Christian walk. Peppered with personal examples I was amazed to read Spurgeon claim he was wracked with doubt and it was his biggest hurdle. He would experience doubt that would nearly cripple him and the only thing that pulled him out was going to Scripture and reading how we are secure in Jesus and none will prevail against Him. This security, only found in Jesus carried Spurgeon through as he wrote, taught, and preached for a lifetime.

For any and all of us that experience anguish and turmoil, this book is excellent. I recommend this book on a personal level for every believer and also as a gift or loaner to friends experiencing anguish. For as Paul so aptly wrote in Ephesians 6: 12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

Please allow Spiritual Warfare in a Believers Life to be part of your equipping of the whole armor of God.

And remember, if you buy the book from the embedded link above, we will receive a small stipend from Amazon. This does not increase the cost of the purchase to you, it is an added benefit on our part for bringing this to your attention. All monies derived from the purchases of books and other things will go to support mission funds. Presently we are saving money to put on three concerts for our community to bring the Gospel to a wide range of folks.
